NJ State Police Boy Scout Camporee
October 5 – 7, 2007 
The NJ State Park Police participated in the largest scouting even in the country sponsored by the NJ State Police and the Boy Scouts of America with extensive support from the NJ National Guard at the NJ State Police Academy in Sea Girt. More than 10,000 scouts participated in a weekend packed with demonstrations of helicopters, motorcycles, airboats and high-tech gadgetry.
The New Jersey State Park Police participated in the event, sharing information about law enforcement careers in the State Parks and Forests. A Park Police boat, snowmobile, patrol vehicles and an ATV were on display at the event.
Garden State COPS Annual Camping Trip
June 22 – 24, 2007
The State Park Police hosted the annual camping trip for the Garden State COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) at the East Creek Cabin at Belleplain State Forest in Woodbine for the widows and children of fallen police officers. PBA Local # 222, Ocean County PBA and the state offices of the PBA sponsored the event.
Garden State COPS is a New Jersey Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc., a nationwide, nonprofit organization that provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty as determined by Federal criteria. Furthermore, COPS provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors.
