The Walt Whitman House will be re-opening for guided tours on July 1st.

Tours Scheduled by Appointment Wednesday through Saturday.  Call for tour times and to make a reservation: (856) 964-5383.

Tours are limited in size. Call to speak to a staff member before visiting to confirm hours and tour availability. Masks are required. Please note: the schedule may be subject to change. Call for current times (856) 964-5383

General admission is free. 
Fees may apply for group reservations and special programming.

Group Tours & School Programs available by reservation. Group reservations are required three weeks in advance of your planned visit. Call: (856) 964-5383 Note: Group tour reservations are not being accepted at this time.

Directions

 

From New Jersey: From the New Jersey Turnpike, take Exit 4 onto Route 73 North. Take I-295 South to I-676 toward Camden. Take exit 5-A and follow signs to MLK Jr./Mickle Blvd., Adventure Aquarium and the Camden Waterfront.

From Philadelphia: From Route I-76, I-676, or I-95 take the Ben Franklin Bridge into New Jersey. From the toll plaza follow signs for I-676, exit at MLK Jr./Mickle Blvd. and follow signs for Adventure Aquarium.

Public Transportation: Take the PATCO Hi-Speed Line to Broadway Station. From the station walk three blocks west on MLK Jr./Mickle Blvd. toward the Waterfront. Taxis are also available at the station.

Take the New Jersey Transit River Line to the Walter Rand Transportation Center. From the station walk three blocks West on MLK Jr./Mickle Blvd. toward the Waterfront.


Disabled Access Information: Parking is along the street in front of the house. Entrance to the house is gained after climbing three steps to a raised threshold. One third of the museum can be viewed from the first floor. Access to the second floor is by climbing a narrow staircase with eleven steps. Maneuverability with a wheelchair is restricted by memorabilia and furnishings.
