Current Concessions Opportunities

The Department of Environmental Protection is issuing Bid Specifications for Concession Opportunities in areas administered by the Division of Parks & Forestry. Concession Agreements are awarded through a sealed public bid process. More detailed information is available in the Bid Submission Instructions.

A Bidder must submit a completed Prequalification Application and the specific BID PROPOSAL FORM for each Concession Opportunity that the Bidder is bidding on. Bid Proposal packages must be received by the Office of Leases & Concessions no later than noon on the following proposed dates:

Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park – River Tube Concession due on May 29, 2020
Atsion Recreation Area – Food/Novelty Concession due on May 29, 2020
Bass River State Forest – Food/Novelty Concession due on May 29, 2020
Belleplain State Forest – Food/Novelty Concession due on May 29, 2020
High Point State Park – Food/Novelty Concession due on May 29, 2020
Leonardo State Marina – Mobile Food Concession due on May 29, 2020
Round Valley Recreation Area – Food/Novelty Concession due on May 29, 2020

4/9/2020 (UPDATE TO 4/6/2020 NOTICE) Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park – River Tube Concession: In recognition of ongoing events surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Department of Environmental Protection recognizes that recreational businesses will need extra time and flexibility to prepare for the upcoming season and therefore we have extended the deadline for submission of bid proposals until noon on May 29, 2020. 

4/6/2020 NOTICE Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park – River Tube Concession: In recognition of ongoing events surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Department of Environmental Protection has extended the deadline for submission of bid proposals. More details on the extended due date will follow.

3/18/20 NOTICE Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park – River Tube Concession: Due to recent events related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) the cut-off date for submission of written questions has been extended until March 26, 2020.  All responses to written questions will be posted on or before March 31, 2020.  The original deadline of noon on March 31, 2020 for bid proposal submissions has been extended until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2020.  ** Please note: all written questions submitted by the original cut-off date will still be posted on or before March 20, 2020.

Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park – River Tube Concession: The Department of Environmental Protection is providing clarification to all potential bidders regarding the bid specifications for the River Tube Concession at the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park issued by the Department of Environmental Protection. As stated in 1A Scope of the Bid Specifications, the Concessionaire shall, under a Concession Agreement (“Agreement”), be granted the exclusive right to rent tubes, deliver and pick up customers at two (2) Department-designated delivery and pick up areas within the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park and oversee launching into and out of the river at two (2) Department-designated areas within the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park for recreational floating down the Delaware River (hereinafter referred to as the “Concession Operation”). The Concession Operation is intended to be an exclusive right provided by the Department of Environmental Protection to the selected Concessionaire to conduct a commercial tubing operation within the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park. The Department will enforce and is obligated to ensure the successful Concessionaire’s contractual right to the Concession Operation.
